About
About
Borderline Parkour takes its name from our local region on the central border of Maryland and Pennsylvania. We embody a multi-sport approach to movement and fitness while continuing to explore the boundaries of what we can do. Whether today looks more like exercise, play or sport it's borderline parkour.
What is Parkour?
An environmentally based freestyle sport emphasizing efficiancy of movement across urban and natural terrain.
What is Freerunning?
An approach to parkour that focuses on creative expression - often utilizing rhythmic and acrobatic movement along with unique and innovative use of space and obstacles.
A more accurate definition:
Parkour (Freerunning) is a street sport where its practitioners use their body and the environment around them to overcome mentally and physically demanding challenges for fun, fitness or competition. The kinds of movements you will see most often include running, jumping, climbing and various forms of acrobatics.
The standout difference in Parkour compared to other sports is it's emphasis on not just what you do, but how it's done and most importanly where you do it.
